VECTOR® by Roquette or the multiple promises of a biopolymer

On 1 December, Roquette hosted on its site in Lestrem (Pas-de-Calais) a technical day organised by the AFTPVA entitled “Gluing-Packaging, Biodiversity-Bio-based”.

On this occasion, the fourth-ranked starch manufacturer in the world presented its Vector® concept and its big potential of applications.

It was in the environment of the Roquette factory in Lestrem (Nord), the biggest starch manufacturing site in the world (maize and wheat), and in a very friendly atmosphere that this technical day devoted to “gluing-packaging biodiversity and bio-based” took place. Organised jointly by Roquette and the French Association of Paint, Varnish, Inks and Adhesives Technicians (AFTPVA), this seminar enabled in particular stock to be taken of the research into and development of products with a reduced impact on the environment...

...For many long years Roquette has been helping paper and board manufacturers to improve the quality of their products and their productivity.
Among the flagship products of the second ranked European starch manufacturer: Vector®, an aqueous dispersion of ionic bio-based polymers...

...Vector® is suited to positively or negatively charged substrates (- 1,000 μeq/g sec to + 1,600 μeq/g sec). Its rheology is adaptable to all types of applications: dry substances (14 to 50 %) and viscosity (400 to 8,000 mPa.s). Vector® also complies with the BfR and FDA regulations. In addition, its implementation is easy, whether we are talking about the investment proper or the utilisation or maintenance constraints. The cation stability is assured, both at the level of the charge and the bacteriology, and over a period of over a year. As regards the anion stability (viscosity and charge), it exceeds six months.
